Martlock Award
Wittig awarded Martlock a LGPD Tee shirt in honor of her 30 years of service to the Park District.
December Minutes
Bell made a motion to accept the December minutes as corrected. Lyons seconded the motion. The December minutes were unanimously approved with corrections.
Treasurer’s Report- Krause
The balance in the checking and savings accounts as of December 31 totals $38,950.
Bell made a motion to approve the December Treasurers’, report as presented. Wiberg seconded the motion. The Treasurer’s report for December was unanimously approved.
Legal/Insurance-Wiberg
Property Tax Exemption
Wiberg reported the property tax exemption has been resolved for the one acre parcel of land received from the Reed-Turner Trust. Wittig will send an update to the Reed-Turner Trust.
AT&T
Wiberg reported that the diesel generator AT&T wants to put near the cell tower is not in the cell tower footprint. AT&T does not want to do a survey of the area. AT&T may also want to add additional services from the tower. Wiberg requested that AT&T provide a proposal of detailing what they would like to do. Wiberg will review and present the proposal information to the Commissioners when it is received.
Statue at Buffalo Creek Park
The insurance company will begin processing the claim for the stolen statue in Buffalo Creek Park. A photo of the statue was sent to the insurance company and the insurance company will follow up with Charlie Wach’s for the value of the statue.
Site Reviews-Borg/Bassett
Gridley
Wittig reported some additional vandalism in Gridley. A TV and garbage was dumped at the ball fields. A police report was filed and the Sheriff’s police will continue to increase patrol in the area.
Buffalo Creek Park/Covered Bridge Trail-Lyons
Buffalo Creek Park
Martlock reported the park was cleaned up nicely.
Reed-Turner Woodland
Borg reported the floor drain is open to eliminate flooding in the basement. Digging was done to remove roots and tile was added for drainage. Borg will put a fence post in to mark the drainage tile.
Sports/Fields- Nathanson
Ball Fields
Nathanson sent the bill to the BGRA and BGRA has sent a check for their agreed portion of the ball field maintenance.
AED Requirements
Nathanson reviewed the new State of Illinois AED requirements for Park Districts. He will communicate this to Ulrich for the recreational programs.
Recreation-Bassett

Santa’s visit was a big success. Thirty-five families participated. Children enjoyed visiting with Santa, music from Lee Bassett and crafts.

The two traveling basketball teams are in full swing starting with practice games.

Long Grove Village Board Meetings
Wiberg-December 13
Wiberg reported a discussion of interest by Ela Township and Buffalo Grove for renting the ball fields at Menards.
Vice President’s Report-Lyons
Open Meetings Act
Lyons reported the online course is 62 pages long. A certificate of completion will be provided when the class and test are completed. The site is having some issues. Lyons will advise Commissioners when the site issues are resolved and the site is working. The course needs to be completed within a year.
Lake County Public Works @ Herons Landing
Lyons reported the Herons landing water main project will need to cross lot 123 of the LGPD. Lake County Public Works seeks approval for the project from the LGPD. The Lake County Public Works agreed to restore the property to the way it was or better when the project is complete. They will take pictures before and after the project. The project will be done in spring. Wiberg will explore with Ancel Glick what is needed to protect the LGPD from any future financial exposure for maintenance.
Advertising on Website
Lyons reported receiving an email from a Camp that would like to advertise their camp and pre-school on the LGPD website. The LGPD concluded no advertising will be allowed on the Park District website.
President’s Report-Wittig
Donation Letter
Wittig reported the annual donation letter generated $4,995 to date.
Move to Closed Session
Wiberg made a motion to move to closed session. Borg seconded the motion. Moved to closed session at 8:35 PM

Wiberg made a motion to move to open session. Borg seconded the motion. Moved to open session at 8:45 PM
Lyons made a motion to approve the contract prepared by Adam Simon, Ancel Glink in the pursuit of the 3 properties (3852, 3853 3855) comprised of 7.2 acres and that the LGPD proceed with the purchase of the properties. Wiberg seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously carried.
Adjournment of Meeting
Lyons made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Bell seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 pm.
